PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng arrives Philippines
VNGOP – After wrapping up his Indonesia tour, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, his spouse and entourage arrived Manila at noon of August 9, starting the official visit to the Republic of the Philippines.

They expressed their pleasure at positive developments of the bilateral ties and multifaceted cooperation for over 30 years since the diplomatic tie establishment. The two sides agreed to cement and deepen the relationship in the new context and confirmed their determination to realize the Joint Declaration on the framework for Việt Nam-Philippines Comprehensive Cooperation in the first quarter of the 21st century and the following stages. The two leaders also approved the Action Program 2007-2010 to implement the Joint Declaration. |  | | PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and President Macapagal Arroyo witness the signing of the Action Program 2007-2010 - Photo: VNGOP | In the time to come, the two countries will prioritize their cooperation in increasing trade exchanges, stabilizing the markets for strategic goods such as rice and other agro-industrial products, encouraging Vietnamese and Filippino businesses and investors, strengthening cooperation in aquaculture, exchanging information and collaborating in tourist promotion, boosting cooperation in education, culture and tourism, realizing agreements on agricultural and health cooperation. The two leaders agreed to promote the bilateral cooperation in security and national defense, especially in fighting against international terrorism, trans-national criminals, and conducting joint patrols of naval forces. The two leaders also discussed on regional and international issues of common concern. Right after the talks, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and President Macapagal Arroyo witnessed the signing of the Việt Nam-Philippines Action Program 2007-2010, the Protocol on cultural cooperation 2007-2008 between the two governments, and the agreement on trade promotion between the Việt Nam Trade Promotion Bureau and the Philippines Export and Trade Promotion Agency.
