The host highly valued Việt Nam's achievements gained in the cause of renovation as well as the country's increasing role in the region. The two leaders expressed their pleasure at good developments of the bilateral ties over the past time and emphasized the need to boost a long-term comprehensive and sustainable cooperation on the basis of mutual respect of independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. They also pledged to consistently realize the Joint Declaration on the Framework for a Friendly and Comprehensive Cooperation in the 21st Century signed by the two countries in June 2003. The two leaders also discussed and agreed on orientations and measures to boost the bilateral ties in specific fields. Accordingly, Việt Nam and Indonesia will continue to create more attractive and favorable environment for trade and investment activities as well as kick off new aspects of economic cooperation for mutual benefit. The two sides agreed to increase relations between the two peoples and business communities; promote cooperation in agro-forestry and fishery, oil and energy, health, culture and tourism, education and training, national security and defense, and environmental protection; collaborate and share experience in fighting against terrorism, trans-national criminals, epidemics and natural calamities, looking toward a strategic partnership. Mentioning international and regional issues of common concern, the two leaders highly praised the close cooperation between Việt Nam and Indonesia on regional and international forums, reaffirming their commitment to cement the close partnership in enhancing peace, stability and economic development in the region and the world. They once again pledged to support the establishment of the ASEAN Community based on three pillars, namely political, economic and socio-cultural cooperation. Both the host and the guest expressed their confidence that PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng's visit to Indonesia will help bring the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Việt Nam and Indonesia to a new height, meeting the two people's desire and interest and for the sake of peace, stability, cooperation, development and prosperity in Southeast Asia and the world.  PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the signing of the MoU on cultural cooperation – Photo: VNGOP | After the talks, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and President Yudhoyono witnessed the signing ceremony of the Memoranda of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Indonesian Ministry of Culture; on anti-corruption between the Vietnamese Governmental Inspectorate and the Indonesia National Commission for Anti-corruption. PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng his deputy, Foreign Ministry Phạm Gia Khiêm, also witnessed the signing of documents on cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Việt Nam and Indonesia at the Việt Nam–Indonesia Business Forum organized on August 8 in Jakarta. Addressing the forum, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng asked Vietnamese and Indonesian economic groups and enterprises to promote cooperation and investment activities to raised the bilateral trade turnover. The Vietnamese Government always encourages and offers good conditions for foreign investors, including those from Indonesia, to do business in Việt Nam, the PM said.
