PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng starts ASEAN tour

VNGOP – At the invitations of the top leaders of Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar and Brunei, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and his spouse on August 8 left Hà Nội for Indonesia, starting their official visit to these ASEAN countries from August 8-16, 2007.

The PM's first official visit to Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar and Brunei is also a courtesy tour made under ASEAN's practices.

The visit aims at strengthening the cooperation and friendship with the neighbors in the region, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar and Brunei, as well as discussing solutions to boost the bilateral ties between Việt Nam and each country, especially in economic, trade and investment cooperation.

It is reported that PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and his spouse are accompanied by Deputy PM, Foreign Minister Phạm Gia Khiêm, leaders of the ministries of Resources and Environment; Culture, Sports and Tourism; Industry and Trade; Agriculture and Rural Development; Government Inspectorate; Government Office; and Việt Nam Chamber for Commerce and Industry.

The entourage also includes over 40 CEOs of many Vietnamese economic groups and companies operating in gas and oil, electricity, posts and telecommunications, rubber, and information technology.
