PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng highly valued the important role of the Union in developing the Việt Nam-Japan relationship.

"Through cooperation with Việt Nam in trade, investment, culture, science and technique, national defense and security, Japan can improve its prestige and role in relations with the Indochinese countries and ASEAN as well. At present, Japan is the biggest investor in Việt Nam and Việt Nam, in its turns, is the biggest commercial partner of Japan", PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng emphasized.

The PM suggested the two countries to continue their comprehensive cooperation in line with the Joint Declaration, especially focusing on three major projects in Việt Nam: North-South highway, trans-Việt Nam express railway, and the Hòa Lạc Hi-tech Park. PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng stated that he had directed the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to collaborate with the Japanese partners in reaching a bilateral economic-trade coalition treaty.

Mr. Takebe Tsutomo reported that the Union just founded a working group in charge of the above-mentioned three projects. "At present, many Japanese investors are interested in Việt Nam. Our Union, as the largest parliamentary union in Japan, will do its best to strengthen the friendship with Việt Nam," the guest said.

Chairman Takebe Tsutomo expressed his desire to obtain economic coalition agreements between Japan and Việt Nam as well as ASEAN.
