| | | PM: VN is confident and strong enough to overcome temporary difficulties - Photo: VGP | PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng made the statement at the formal National Day banquet on September 1 in Hà Nội. Addressing the reception, PM Dũng thanked foreign governments, ambassadors, diplomats and international organizations for their sincere affections, precious support and fruitful cooperation with Việt Nam during the past 63 years. PM Dũng hoped that they will continue to help boost the ties with those countries, international organizations for the sake of peace, friendship, cooperation and development in the world. Confirming the historical importance of the great August 1945 Revolution which gave birth to the Democratic Republic of Việt Nam (now the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam) and opened a new era of independence, freedom and social advancement for the country, the PM emphasized that, in that revolutionary spirit, Việt Nam is speeding up the 5-year plan of socio-economic development 2006-2010 with the target of jumping out of underdevelopment line and advancing to the status of an modern industrialized country by the year 2020. The PM pointed out that, Việt Nam is facing some certain economic adversities due to the global economic recession as well as the internal shortcomings. However, Việt Nam has a firm confidence and strong will to overcome these temporary difficulties, he stated. The first priority now is fruitfully carry out the Government's eight groups of solutions on curbing inflation, stabilizing the marco-economy, ensuring social security and sustainable growth, confirmed the PM. He believed that, with the spirit of the great August 1945 Revolution as well as the honorable support and assistance of international community, Việt Nam will continue to write down new victorious golden pages in the cause of industrialization and modernization. On behalf of the guests, Argentinian Ambassador Tomas Ferrari, Head of Diplomatic Corps in Hà Nội, praised the Vietnamese Government and people’s efforts in building a powerful and advanced Vietnamese country... creating an intellectual background for deeper and wider integration into the world's economy.
