PM and his deputies granted with assignments

VNGOP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng has just signed Decision 1120/QĐ-TTg on assignments to him and his deputies.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng
Accordingly, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng will be in charge of all activities of the Government, focusing on the following aspects:
Strategies and plans on national socio-economic development (including the plans on using lands and State capital resources for development investment); national-level strategies and policies on finance, credit, and monetary; long-term strategies and planning schemes on socio-economic development of regions, centrally-administered provinces/cities, ministries and the equivalent, and economic groups;
Plans on using the surplus of annual collection of State budget; central standby budget; and the State foreign exchange fund;
Activities to maintain national defense and security; ethnic and religious issues; health; population strategies; administrative reforms; setting up institutes and laws; the Government’s apparatus, personnel and performance; State administrative boundaries;
Unexpected and sensitive assignments in the fields of economy, culture, diplomacy, national defense and security; important solutions and breakthroughs in certain periods requiring the PM’s direct guidance;
The PM will chair the Central Steering Committee for Anti-corruption.
Standing Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng
Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng assumes tasks of a standing Deputy PM who can act on behalf of the PM in presiding over and regulating the Government’s performance when the PM is absent or when authorized by the PM. He is directly responsible for the following activities:
Regularly supervising and directing specific work in the PM’s competence relating to general economy (excluding the issues directly guided by the PM), such as planning work, finance, price, customs, banking, securities, statistics.
He is also in charge of labor, job and social issues; rearrangement of State-owned enterprises and the development of businesses of all kinds.
Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng will be the Chairman of the National Council for Monetary Policies, the Head of the Steering Board of the Southwest, supervise and direct the ministries of Finance, Labor-War Invalids and Social Affairs, State Bank, Committee on Ethnic Minority Affairs, Management Board of the Hồ Chí Minh Mausoleum, Việt Nam Social Insurance, Việt Nam Development Bank, Bank of Social Policies, State Capital Business and Investment Corporation.
Deputy PM, FM Phạm Gia Khiêm
Deputy PM, Foreign Minister Phạm Gia Khiêm undertakes the following duties:
Foreign affairs (including externally-orientated activities run by the Party, State and people); external economy; international economic integration and realization of bilateral, multilateral and WTO commitments; relations with international and regional organizations as well as foreign non-governmental organizations; issues relating to land border, sea island and the East Sea;
Human rights and other duties assigned by the PM.
Deputy PM Trương Vĩnh Trọng
Deputy PM Trương Vĩnh Trọng is the Standing Deputy Chairman of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-corruption (CSCA). At the same time, he will be in charge of corruption prevention; inspecting and dealing with complaints and denouncements; fighting against crimes and social evils; HIV/AIDS control; legislative reforms; reprieve and amnesty work.
He also manages and directs the CSCA Office, Ministry of Justice, Governmental Inspectorate and other governmental bodies in the relevant fields.
Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải is assigned to:

Supervise and regulate specific work in the PM’s competence relating to sectoral economy (excluding the issues directly guided by the PM), including industry, agriculture, fishery, trade and services (domestic market, export-import, fighting against traffic and trade frauds, protecting consumer’s interests), construction, transport, resources and environment, hydrometeorology, flood control, rescue;
Manage and direct the implementation of strategies and plans to guarantee the country’s energies.
Be responsible for national-level major projects and those using the State budget; economic zones, industrial parks, export processing zones; marine economy and rural development; cooperative economy, cooperatives and other relevant duties assigned by the PM;
Manage and direct the ministries of Industry and Trade, Construction, Transport, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Resources and Environment.
Deputy PM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân
Deputy PM Nguyễn Thiện Nhân will be the Minister of Education and Training. He is entrusted to undertake specific work under the PM’s competence in the following aspects:
Education, training and vocational education; science and technology; industrial property; high technologies;
Information and communication (media, publishing, posts, telecommunications and information technology); culture, tourism; sports and physical culture; and other relevant assignments;
He will supervise and direct the ministries of Education-Training, Information-Communication, Science-Technology, Culture-Sports and Tourism, Việt Nam Academy of Science and Technology, and Việt Nam Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities.
