Forty-eight among nearly 1,000 press stories and programs from over 100 media organizations were awarded, including three Prizes A (first grade), eleven Prizes B, 19 Prizes C and 15 consolation prizes.
According to Mr. Đinh Thế Huynh, Chairman of the Việt Nam Journalists’ Association, President of the National Press Contest Committee, the winners, though not really reflecting in a comprehensive way the contributions of the Vietnamese revolutionary journalism to the country’s development, are outstanding press works expressing Vietnamese journalists’ efforts in recounting all aspects of the social life and encouraging people to build the country.
Addressing the ceremony, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng highlighted the development of Vietnamese journalism to become one of motive forces for national development. In the process of international integration, journalism is proactively contributing to the increased friendship, solidarity and mutual understanding between Vietnamese people and other nations and friends in the world; introducing the country’s images and culture; and improving Việt Nam’s prestige.
The PM emphasized that the Party and State always give best conditions for media organizations to further make greater contributions to the cause of building and developing a rich and powerful Vietnamese country of equality, democracy and civilization.
