State and Gov't leaders welcome Japanese MPs
VNGOP – State President Nguyễn Minh Triết and PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on August 20 separately received the delegation of the Japanese House of Representatives headed by Mr. Nikai Toshihiro, Chairman of the Japanese Liberal Democratic Party's Diet Policy Committee.
| | State President Nguyễn Minh Triết, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and Japanese MPs | At the receptions, State President Nguyễn Minh Triết and PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng expressed their pleasure at the good developments of the Việt Nam-Japan friendship and effective cooperation in various fields. The State President emphasized that three Japan-funded projects – Trans-Việt Nam express railway; North-South highway and the Hòa Lạc Hi-tech Park – are very important to Việt Nam's socio-economic development. Việt Nam highly values Japan's cooperation and assistance and expects that, in the time to come, Japan will continue to invest in Việt Nam, especially in infrastructure construction and transport. Talking to the Japanese parliamentarians, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng asserted that Việt Nam and Japan share cultural similarities and should promote cultural exchange and educational cooperation. The Government chief lauded the Japanese members of parliament for their initiative to call for Japanese localities and businesses to invest in the Hòa Lạc Hi-tech Park as well as to invite 2,000 Vietnamese students to learn in Japan. The Japanese MPs showed their admiration at Việt Nam's socio-economic development in recent years, adding that they will support the realization of the three projects.
