PM approves National Program on children protection
VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on Tuesday approved a National Program on Children Protection for 2011-2015 period.

The program aims to create safe and healthy environment for children, eliminate possible threats to them, and reduce the number of those living in special circumstances to less than 5.5% from the current rate of 6%.
In addition, the program prioritizes those children suffering from injuries or violence and juvenile crime.
With the total fund of VND 1,755 billion, the program also plans to help 80% of handicapped children to access to medical services on orthopedic and rehabilitation centers, and education.
The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) reported that children living in special circumstances in 2010 reached 1.54 million, representing 6% of the country’s total number of children./.
