PM approves overall planning scheme for Lao Bảo SECA
VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng has approved the adjusted overall planning scheme for the Lao Bảo Special Economic-Commercial Area (SECA) till 2025, with total acreage of 15,804 hectares.

Accordingly, the new SECA will cover two towns of Lao Bảo and Khe Sanh and five communes in Hướng Hóa District.
The SECA will function as an important transportation hub and border gate for countries along the East-West corridor.
The PM decided to select Khe Sanh as the administrative, cultural and healthcare center for the SECA, with the acreage of 102 hectares.
Meanwhile, commercial and service centers, a vocational training college will be developed in Lao Bảo.
The SECA’s population is estimated at 52,500 people by 2015 and 75,150 by 2025.
