PM attends socio-economic development exhibition
VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on August 28 attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition on 70 years of socio-economic development, which is themed “Renovation, integration and development”.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam highlighted that Viet Nam’s socioeconomic development achievements over the past seven decades came as result of the country’s great efforts in association with valuable cooperation and assistance from friends around the world.
Viet Nam has become a successful story for poverty reduction and realization of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, he said, adding that many of the human and social indexes are better than other countries of the same development level.
Viet Nam has set up economic relations with almost all economies around the world, becoming an attractive destination for investors from 100 countries and territories with 20,000 projects worth nearly US$300 billion.
As evaluated by international organizations, Viet Nam has maintained high economic growth over the recent 20 years, said the Deputy PM.
In the future, the nation needs promote innovation for faster and more sustainable development and for the shining of the national cultural values.
The exhibition, held from August 28-Septmeber 3, attracts the participation of 27 ministries, agencies and organizations, 27 localities and businesses.
