PM receives U.S. Supreme Court Justice

PM Dung welcomed the guest and expressed his pleasure with the positive and practical development of the Viet Nam – U.S. comprehensive partnership, saying that for the two decades, bilateral cooperation has seen a great stride, bringing in practical benefits to both countries.
 
He affirmed that the Government, ministries and agencies of Viet Nam will do their best and work closely with U.S. counterparts to implement effectively agreements made during General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s U.S. visit.
 
Viet Nam is boosting judicial reforms to successfully build a law-governed state, and better protect justice and human rights, PM Dung said.
 
The country is also improving the judicial system in line with the Constitution, the nation’s historical and cultural tradition and universal values of humanity, he added.
 
The government leader wanted the Viet Nam Supreme People’s Court and the U.S. Supreme Court to better cooperation, especially in judicial experience sharing and judicial training, contributing to bilateral all-round relations.
 
Ginsburg spoke highly of Viet Nam’s achievements in judicial reform and legal system improvement in order to build strong, efficient, transparent, and democratic judiciaries for protection of human rights and justice.
 
She informed the PM on the outcomes of her meetings with Viet Nam’s judicial agencies.
 
She said the U.S. Supreme Court is willing to boost cooperation with the Viet Nam Supreme People’s
Court in all fields, especially sharing experience in appeal conditions and court personnel training.
 
She also revealed that more U.S. judges will visit Viet Nam in the coming time, adding that the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. all-level courts welcome Vietnamese partners to visit the country to exchange experience.
