The PM highly appreciated the construction of an Intel micro-processing plant in Hồ Chí Minh City, being firmly convinced that the project, once coming into operation, will play an important role in Việt Nam’s socio-economic development.

He compared the project to a vivid symbol of the well-developing friendship and cooperation between Việt Nam and the US.

The host leader said that Việt Nam always considers IT a priority industry and the Government is outlining a roadmap of IT development to convert Việt Nam into a power in this field.

PM Dũng took the occasion to ask Intel to share its experience with Việt Nam in developing modern and advanced IT.

Chairman Craig Barrett stated that Intel will spare no effort to complete its micro-processing plant on schedule.

He pledged to enhance cooperation with Việt Nam in building IT infrastructure and other aspects proposed by PM Dũng.

The micro-processing plant in Hồ Chí Minh City was licensed in late February 2006. This is one of the US largest projects in Việt Nam with the investment capital of US $1 billion. It is the 7th Intel plant worldwide.
