PM receives Harvard professors

VNGOP - Nguyễn Tấn Dũng gave a reception in the evening of January 15 to Prof. Thomas Vellery, Director of the Việt Nam Program, and other professors from Harvard University.

Prof. Thomas Vellery highly spoke of Việt Nam’s economic growth and development seen in domestic and foreign-invested sectors as well as in State-run and non State sectors. Harvard professors presented their opinions on some issues Việt Nam should speed up to facilitate economic growth, especially urban management, control over migration into big cities, improving of enterprises’ competitiveness, development of major large-scale industries to industrialize and modernize the country, and infrastructure.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng expressed his thank to the guests’ comments and stressed that, Việt Nam’s economic successes have been partly resulted from valuable experience of international friends, including Harvard professors.

The PM stated that, in its strategy on development, Việt Nam will continue to complete the market economy and further integrate into the international economy to become a modern industrial country of social equality and welfare. PM Dũng expressed his desire that Harvard professors will give more experience and opinions to Việt Nam’s socio-economic development programs and policies.
