UK economic groups commit long-term investment in VN

VNGOP – In the meeting with PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng yesterday afternoon, January 08, representatives from 14 leading UK economic groups and companies operating in Việt Nam highly praised the country’s attractive investment environment and pledged to continue their long-term performance in Việt Nam.

On the sideline of the international conference on Việt Nam’s economy held in hà Nội, representatives of 14 UK giants, including Shell, BP, Premier (petroluem); HSBC, Standard Chattered, Prudential, Dragon Capital, Jardines Matbeson Group (banking, insurance, finance); Vodafone (telecommunication); BHP Billiton (mining), Rolls–Royce (engine manufacture); Apollo (education), headed by British Ambassador to Việt Nam Marle Kent, paid a courtesy visit to PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng.

At the meeting, the investors offered their proposal for opening more branches and representative offices and increasing investment capital in Việt Nam.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng highly spoke of the development of the Việt Nam–UK relationship, especially in economy, trade and investment.

After answering many questions from the guests, PM Dũng made the emphasis that the Vietnamese Government, agencies and local authorities will continue to provide more favorable condition for foreign investors, including those from the UK.
