Other important tasks are to properly settle social issues; protect environment; boost administrative reforms; perfect the State apparatus; maintain national sovereignty, political security and social safety; promote anti-corruption, anti-prodigality and thrift practice; and actively integrate into the international economy.

The Government paid a special attention to solutions to push up capital construction, considering this work a major duty to ensure a high growth rate in 2008.

In the first working day, the participants listened to some reports presented by Deputy PM, Minister of Education and Training Nguyễn Thiện Nhân, ministers of Planning and Investment, Labor-War Invalids and Social Affairs, Finance, Industry and Trade, Health, Transport, Agriculture and Rural Development, Internal Affairs, Resource and Environment, and the Government Inspectorate.
