The Vietnamese PM and delegation laid a wreath at the Piskarov Memorial Cemetery where lay hundreds of thousands of St. Petersburg citizens who died in the 900-day siege of Leningrad during the Great War for National Salvation.

In the afternoon of the same day, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng visited Cruiser Aurora which fired at the Winter Palace in Petrograd, opening up the historical Russian October Revolution. The Vietnamese delegation also paid a visit to the Summer Palace and Isakievsky Cathedral.
Today, September 10, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng plans to have meetings with leaders of Saint Petersburg, attend the signing of the Friendship and Cooperation Agreement between Việt Nam’s southern central province of Khánh Hòa and Saint Petersburg City. In the afternoon, he and his entourage leave for Moscow.
PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng is expected to meet Russian President V. Putin, have talks with PM M. Fradkov and have meetings with the Russian Federation Council Chairman and the State Duman Speaker on September 11.
