PM’s opinions on foreign-financed projects

VGP – The PM delivered his opinions on some cooperation projects with foreign partners, on August 1.

The Government chief okayed the portfolio attached to the Agreement between Việt Nam and Sweden on continuing and concluding research cooperation in the period from July 1, 2008 to December 31, 2011.

Regarding the projects using loans from the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) under the Common Credit Program Agreement III, the PM accepted the withdrawal of the projects carried out by Vinaconex and the Building and Development Investment Company. He also ratified the Quảng Ninh Construction and Cement Joint-stock Company’s two projects on expanding the Cement Plant Lam Thạch II and on the quay of the Cái Lân Industrial Park.

The PM gave nod to the projects "Community-based multi-organizational approach to deal with women’s sex violation and HIV/AIDS", "Supporting the implementation of the national program on economical and effective use of energies ", and "Expanding water supply system in Hải Phòng City, stage 2." These projects are funded with US $299,998 by the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM); US $935,000 by the Asia Development Bank (ADB); and US $1.25 million respectively.

On the same day, the PM also approved the contents of the Protocol on Thailand’s participation in the ASEAN-Korea treaties on trading in goods (AKTIG) and in services (AKTIS) under the framework agreement on comprehensive economic cooperation (AKFTA) between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea.
