The Government chief also gave nod to the project "Checking the operation of the Bắc Vàm Nao System" carried out by the People’s Committee of the southern province of An Giang. The project receives a non-refundable aid of AU $950,000 from the Australian Government.

The An Giang People’s Committee is assigned to complete the project’s documents, assess, ratify and implement the project under the current regulations on ODA use and management.

On the same day, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng ratified documents of the project "Books for Asia in 2009-2012" worth of US $5,066,800.

Under the three-year project, the US-based Asian Foundation vows to donate Vietnamese libraries with 120,000 books. The Việt Nam National Library will take over and distribute books to public libraries and those of universities and research institutes throughout the country.
