PM Dung made the suggestion on October 31 while receiving Israeli Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Yair Shamir.
Welcoming the Israeli Minister’s working visit to Viet Nam, PM Dung highly valued the talks held between the Israeli Minister and his Vietnamese counterpart Cao Duc Phat, expressing his hope that the visit will contribute to accelerating the two nations’ multi-faceted relations, especially in agriculture.
He laid stress on potentials for the two sides’ cooperation at a larger scale in science-technology, agriculture, national security, trade and investment, suggesting the organization of the Joint Committee’s meeting to realize it.
He also suggested Israel increase Official Development Assistance (ODA) for Viet Nam’s human resources development, infrastructure and response to climate change.
The PM asserted that the Vietnamese Government will create favorable conditions for Israel’s businesses to invest in high-tech in Viet Nam and apply high-tech on agricultural production and telecommunication.
Minister Yair Shamir revealed that the countries’ two-way trade value now reached more than US$1 billion and will surge in the future when a legal framework to boost bilateral cooperation in all fields is set up.
Besides agriculture cooperation, the two nations need to expand cooperation in medicines, pharmaceuticals and fertilizers.
