VN eyes closer ties with Belgium

VNGOP – In the reception given to Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Karel De Gucht on June 12, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng asserted that Việt Nam wants to deepen cooperation with Belgium in all fields for mutual benefits and development.

Mentioning Việt Nam’s economic situations, PM Dũng unveiled that, facing fluctuations in the world economy, Việt Nam is now drastically taking consistent measures to rein inflation, stabilize the macro-economy, ensure social security, consolidate its favorable environment to attract more foreign investors and fulfill its yearly goals.

The host expressed his desire that Belgium would further support Việt Nam in negotiations for the Investment Cooperation Agreement between Việt Nam and the European Union.

Minister Karel De Gucht stated that many Belgian enterprises are much interested in Việt Nam. He also proposed some fields for bilateral cooperation, such as investment, trade, health, post and telecommunication.
