VN to apply for two more cultural heritages

VGP –  PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng has has allowed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to apply for UNESCO’s recognition of Việt Nam’s two more intangible cultural heritages.

Those are “Đờn ca Tài tử Nam Bộ” in the southern region and Hùng Kings’ praying beliefs in the northern province of Phú Thọ.

The two sets of documents, which have been compiled by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hồ Chí Minh City People’s Committee and other 20 southern provinces, will be sent to UNESCO before March 31, 2011.

Up to now, Việt Nam has five UNESCO-recognized cultural heritages, namely Nhã nhạc of Huế Court, the Space of Gong Culture in the Central  Highlands of Việt Nam, Quan họ Bắc Ninh folk songs, Ca trù and Gióng festival.
