Gov’t chief hosts IADL’s representative
VGP – Receiving French lawyer William Bourdon, representative of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL), who is on a working visit to Việt Nam, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng highly appreciated the guest and IADL’s supports to Việt Nam over the past time.
| | | Photo: VGP | Lawyer William Bourdon informed the host leader about IADL’s activities to back Vietnamese Orange Agent/dioxin victims’ struggle for justice. The guest stressed that, after the US Supreme Court rejected Vietnamese Orange Agent/dioxin victims’ petition against American chemical producers for the latter’s use harmful Orange Agent during the Việt Nam War, IADL vows to do its best in campaigning the international supports for the victims. IADL and the Việt Nam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) are sparing no effort in jointly organizing a World People’s Court for Common Sense scheduled in May in Paris, said Mr. Bourdon, adding that the Court is the first step of IADL’s campaign. PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng expressed his gratitude to and highly spoke of IADL and the lawyer’s supports to the Vietnamese people not only in the resistance war for national salvation in the past but also in the struggle for justice of dioxin victims. Despite a number of difficulties and challenges lying ahead, the goodwill and supports from IADL will surely help to make the world’s people and the US to recognize the truth and their responsible to the Orange Agent victims.
