Gov’t chief kick-starts new school-year in the south

VGP - PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng today attended the opening of the new school-year 2009-2010 in Hòn Đất District of the southern province of Kiên Giang and the inauguration of the Nam Thái Sơn Senior Secondary School, the first one of its kind built in the frequently flood-hit region.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng emphasized his hope that the senior secondary school will train a contingent of young talented intellectuals who play the important role in the cause of national construction.

The government chief hoped that Kiên Giang Province will promote educational work, encouraging local teachers and pupils to show better performance, so as to contribute to their home land’s prosperity.

The construction of the Nam Thái Sơn School was started on May 19 and opened on the occasion of the new school-year.

The 3,500-m2 school boasts for modern classrooms, library, gardens and teaching equipment. It can receive over 700 pupils per year.
