The PM highly valued the United Kingdom's role in the European Union and the United Nations and appreciated its assistance to Việt Nam in organizing an international high-ranking officials’ conference to realize the "One United Nations" Initiative to speed up the UN renovation throughout the world.

To realize effectively the partnership for development between the two countries, the PM asked Ambassador Mark Kent to boost cooperation in investment, trade, and tourism, especially helping Việt Nam raise its tertiary education quality, increase the number of British-educated university lecturers, train English teachers for primary schools, and admit more Vietnamese students to the United Kingdom.

Mr. Mark Kent committed to play an active role in strengthening the bilateral ties in trade, investment, education and training, especially granting ODA for Việt Nam’s poverty reduction and implementation of the Millennium Development Goals.
