VN, US expand cooperation in healthcare
VNGOP - PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng received the visiting US Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael O.Leavitt on April 16.

Leavitt stressed that his visit was aimed at cementing and deepening the comprehensive cooperation in different fields between the US Department of Health and Human Services and Vietnam’s relevant ministries and agencies. During the trip, the US health leader also had talks with Việt Nam’s leaders of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on HIV/AIDS prevention and cure, bird flu, and food hygiene. The health leaders of the two countries also discussed the draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) on food hygiene and safety of imports between Việt Nam and the US. PM Dũng was convinced that it is crucial to carry out the MoU. He also hoped that the US Government keeps sponsoring Việt Nam’s programs on HIV/AIDS and other humanitarian activities for Vietnamese dioxin-affected victims in particular. By Thanh Thúy |
