The Government chief asserted that, the close legal and judicial cooperation between Việt Nam and the UK over the past time has significantly contributed to the consolidated bilateral relations in other fields. The host urged the two sides to accelerate negotiations for the Judicial Assistance Agreement. He also asked Mr. Jack Straw to pay attention to economic, cultural and education cooperation in order to raise mutual understanding and trust between the two countries.

Lord Chancellor Jack Straw said that he would do his utmost to boost up effective judicial cooperation with Việt Nam. As a country suffering negative impacts caused by sea level rising, he said, the UK is willing to share its experience of dealing with the problem, at the same time assist Việt Nam to treat garbage and other pollutants.
