New electricity prices to be effective from March
VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on Feb. 23 decided to raise electricity price to VND 1,242 per kWh (excluded VAT), an increase of VND 165 against the average price in 2010. The new price will be applicable from March 1.

The Government chief also approved the power price list for seven levels of customers.
Accordingly, the first level will be applied for low-income households which regularly consume less than 50 kWh per month. Poor households will receive monthly subsidy of VND 30,000 each.
The PM asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to calculate and publicize the power retail prices for customers./.
