PM hails contributions of the industrial and trade sector
VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng just sent a congratulatory letter to staff of the industrial and commercial sector on the occasion of its 58th traditional day (May 14, 1951).
| The industrial and trade sector has contributed over 60% of the country’s GDP | In the letter, the Government chief stressed that, over the past 58 years, generations of industrial and commercial workers have made significant contributions to the cause of national liberation and reunification as well as socialist construction. “In the era of promoting national industrialization and modernization, the sector plays an important part in the national economy,” wrote PM Dũng. Currently, the sector creates over 63% of the country’s GDP, about 70% of the annual State budget, and millions of jobs. The sector is providing many essential products to the economy, such as energy, minerals, oil and gas, steel, fertilizers, chemicals, mechanical and consumer goods. The PM took the occasion to urge the sector make greater efforts in fulfilling its assignments, so as to realize the goal of converting Việt Nam into a modern industrialized country by 2020.
