Singapore erects commemorative stele to President Hồ Chí Minh
VNGOP – On the occasion of President Hồ Chí Minh’s 118th birthday and the 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vieetj Nam and Singapore, the Asian Civilizations Museum in Singapore on May 19 completed the erection of a stone stele dedicated to President Hồ Chí Minh in front of its ceremonial hall.
| The Singaporean National Heritage Board and the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore have cooperated with the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi to realize the project since September, 2007. The monument was built to commemorate the day President Hồ Chí Minh set foot in Singapore in 1933. The monument is made of black granite, 1.80m high, 0.75 wide and 0.23 thick. Its front surface is carved with the President’s portrait and biography. It is a significant event to praise President Hồ Chí Minh, highly appreciate the role of Việt Nam as well as express the sentiment of Singaporean to the Vietnamese leader. By Thùy Dung |
