St. Petersburg ready to join hand with VN’s localities

VNGOP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, his wife and Việt Nam’s high-ranking delegation arrived in Moscow in the afternoon of September 10.

Right after the official welcoming ceremony at the Vnucovo Airport 2 at 15.15 (local times), PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and his entourage laid a wreath at President Hồ Chí Minh’s Monument in Moscow.

In the morning of the same day, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng visited the hydrodynamics plant owned by Power Machine, a well-known Russian energy industry group, specializing in producing turbines and electrical accessories. The Group is reported to have provided one third of electricity generating devices; and taken part in the construction of five power plants in Việt Nam.

Later in the day PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng held talks with St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Matviyenko, at which the latter stated that St. Petersburg as the Russian Federation’s cultural, educational and industrial center will be willing to collaborate with Việt Nam’s localities in teaching Russian language, setting up business centers and boosting energy cooperation.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng highly valued the cooperation and relations at local levels, especially in economic field, in which he said the localities have played their active role in consolidating and strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries; and the Vietnamese Government would support their direct and effective relations, for mutual benefits.

After the talks PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and Governor Matvienko witnessed the signing of an agreement on comprehensive cooperation between St. Petersburg and Việt Nam’s central province of Khánh Hòa, especially in tourism.

In the afternoon of September 10, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng talked to Vietnamese Embassy’s staff and Vietnamese nationals residing in Russia.

On September 11, after laying wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial and Lenin’s Mausoleum, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng holds talks with Russian counterpart Mikhail Fradkov and President Putin and leaders of the Russian Federation Council and the State Duma.
