VN, APO expect closer cooperation

VNGOP – Receiving Mr. Shigeo Takenaka, the visiting Secretary General of the Asia Productivity Organization (APO), on October 18 in Hà Nội, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng said that Việt Nam wants to promote cooperation with APO and the organization’s members.

APO Secretary General Shigeo Takenaka highly valued positive changes in Việt Nam’s productivity and quality movement and expressed his confidence that the movement would further contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng stated that the Vietnamese Government is now directing the Ministry of Science and Technology to draft programs on productivity increasing, so as to increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese businesses, commodities and key economic sectors.

The Government chief applauded APO’s contributions to the movement “One Village, One Product” initiated by APO, which has facilitated the development of handicraft villages, job generation and poverty reduction in many rural areas in Việt Nam.
