Agreement on Vietnamese labor recruitment to Qatar ratified
VNGOP – The PM on June 17 approved the Agreement regarding the regulations on Vietnamese labor recruitment to Qatar signed by the Governments of Việt Nam and Qatar in Hà Nội on January 11.
PM gives VN-UN jointly cooperative plan the nod
VNGOP – The PM has recently ratified a Jointly Cooperative Plan, period 2006-10, between the Vietnamese Government and UN’s 14 bodies. The non-refundabal project values totally US 4 million.
Hòn La in Quảng Bình Province to be built into an economic complex
VNGOP – The Vietnamese PM inked a decision to turn Hòn La into an economic complex with favorable environment for investment and business activities. This will boost up socio-economic growth in Quảng Bình Province as well as the Central Region as a whole.
MARD to join FAO-funded project
VNGOP – The PM allowed on June 10 the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) to take part in stage II of the Project “Direct technical assistance for preparations in urgent situations against highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) sponsored by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.
PM ratifies some UC-funded projects
VNGOP - PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on June 10 allowed the Ministry of Planning and Investment to take over the Project "Assisting the institution for developing cooperatives" funded by the European Commission (EC) and some other sponsors with the total nonrefundable capital of €2,058,892. The project will be carried out in 5 years through two phases.
PM orders to boost up overseas Vietnamese-related work
VNGOP - The Government chief on June 6 instructed all ministries, agencies and local authorities to further undertake overseas Vietnamese-related work in order to bring the Government’s Action Program on this work into reality.
Norway-funded projects approved
VNGOP – The Vietnamese PM on June 6 ratified a governmental-level agreement between Việt Nam and Norway on increasing training and research capacity of the Nha Trang University, stage 2.
PM agreed project on rural development for Nghệ An
VNGOP – The PM ratified on May 21 the Project “Rural Development in the Western Part of Nghệ An Province” (Stage III) funded by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Official list of foreign-funded projects supplemented
VNGOP – On behalf of the PM, Deputy PM Phạm Gia Khiêm agreed on May 20 to include in the official list of foreign-funded project the Policy Implemented Assistance Project, stage III (2008-2013) (PIAP III) conducted by the 12th National Assembly’s Committee on Social Affairs, Committee on Justice and Committee on Law. The project is granted with a total non-refundable ODA of CA$ 8.5 million by the Canadian Government through the Canadian International Development Agency.
PM gives directions on monetary and credit activities
VNGOP - PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, on May 20, asked the State Bank of Việt Nam (SBV) and relevant ministries to promptly take some measures to regulate monetary and credit activities.
