Gov’t leaders consult foreign economists

VGP- Vietnamese PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and his Deputies, together with leaders and senior experts from some ministries and sectors on September 20 held a consultation with foreign economists on the world economy, Việt Nam’s economic development and prospects in the rest of the year and 2009.

Fully aware of the current economic fluctuations in the world, the Vietnamese Government approved to adjust the country’s socio-economic target in 2008, prioritizing inflation curbing, macro-economic stabilization, social security and sustainable growth, said PM Dũng.

The Government chief disclosed that, thanks to drastic and synchronous endorsement of 8 solutions, the socio-economic situations in Việt Nam have shown signs of recovery, ưith growing industrial production, increasing export, going-down trade deficit and CPI, and rocketing foreign investment.

However, said PM Dũng, more drastic instructions are in need as challenges have emerged.

PM Dũng expressed his hope to seek advices and suggestions from financial and monetary bodies as well as foreign economists. As a result, reasonable policies can be timely made and effectively applied by the Government.
