Multifaceted cooperation between VN and Italy boosted

VGP - Việt Nam and Italy should further exploit their available potentialities for mutual benefits, said PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng at his reception with newly-appointed Italian Ambassador to Việt nam Andrea Perugini on September 12 in Hà Nội.

Showing his pleasure at the vigorous development of the bilateral relationship and cooperation between Việt Nam and Italy, PM Dũng revealed that the two-way trade turnover has increased sharply in the recent years, reaching US $1.5 billion in 2007.

He added that potentialities for bilateral cooperation are so great that the two sides should further strengthen their ties in all fields to meet the two people’s aspiration.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Government and people, PM Dũng conveyed his sincere thanks to Italy for granting 1 million to the flood victims.

Ambassador Andrea Perugini remarked diplomatic results gained by the two countries, especially after PM Dũng's visit to Italy in January 2007 which brought the bilateral relationship to a new height.

He said that one of the main tasks of his ambassadorship in Việt Nam is to put into reality the agreements made during the host's Italy tour.
