Right after the welcoming ceremony at the government headquarters, the two PMs held talks to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the economic and trade field.

The two leaders briefed each other on the domestic situations and the diplomatic activities in their respective countries, and they also discussed measures to consolidate the traditional relations and multi-sided cooperation between the two countries.

The two PMs agreed that the economic and trade ties between the two countries have increased rapidly in recent years, however, they still remain at a modest level and incommensurate with the political ties and potentials as well as aspirations of both sides.
The two government leaders promised to encourage enterprises of the two countries to establish direct contacts, exchange information and to promote trade ties so as to raise the trade revenues and investments between the two countries.
They also confirmed that the two countries will support each other in their efforts for being elected as non-permanent members of the Security Council of the United Nations in the 2008-09 tenure.
After the talks the two PMs signed a joint statement and witnessed the signings of a number of important documents for the strengthening the relations and cooperation between the two countries.
