PM: VN consolidates and strengthens traditional ties with Russia, Czech and Poland

VNGOP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng made his emphasis while answering reporters’ questions on his official visits to the Russian Federation, Czech Republic and the Republic of Poland after successfully wrapping up the visits.

The PM’s talks with leaders of the host countries focused on solutions to boost bilateral cooperation, especially in gas and oil exploration and exploitation, electricity, mining, trade, science-technique, education-training, culture, tourism and local-level cooperation.

The visit to the Russian Federation helped increase the mutual trust and deepen the strategic partnership, traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries through specific practical and effective measures. Through the PM’s official visit to the Czech Republic, Việt Nam has strengthened the traditional friendship and made a breakthrough in economic cooperation with this East European country. With Poland, Việt Nam continued bilateral cooperation projects, especially in shipbuilding industry.

During the visits, Vietnamese businesses and their partners in the host countries signed a number of cooperation agreements and contracts worth of nearly US$ 6 billion, including over US$ 2 billion with Russia, US$ 3.5 billion with Czech and more than US$ 300 million with Poland.

“One of successes of the visits was the thorough discussions about the issues relating to the Vietnamese communities in the host countries,” said the PM. He added that the three governments had pledged to provide good conditions for Vietnamese nationals to reside and integrate into the local communities, thus contributing to the mutual understanding and traditional friendship between Việt Nam and those countries.

Referring to prospect of cooperation with Russia, Czech and Poland in the time to come, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng stated that the multifaceted cooperation with those countries will strongly develop in an effective way to meet the people’s aspiration, and contribute to the economic development in each country as well as to peace, cooperation, development and prosperity in the world.

Another aspect that leaders of the host countries have agreed upon includes allowing business circles to establish and expand their direct relations, and their support to the Vietnamese communities which are considered as practical and effective linkages to promote the friendship and cooperation between these countries and Việt Nam.

Earlier, on September 15, before the Vietnamese Government delegation left Poland, Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải, an official member in the delegation, had also granted an interview to the Government Website and Vietnamese reporters on the visits.

Assessing the Vietnamese communities’ role in Russia, Czech and Poland in developing bilateral ties, the Deputy PM said that, in all talks and meetings with senior leaders of the host countries, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng reconfirmed the Vietnamese Party and State’s policy of considering overseas Vietnamese an indispensable part of the Vietnamese nation.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and the Vietnamese delegation had meetings with the Vietnamese nationals in all three countries,. ”The PM and the delegation were warmly welcomed by Vietnamese people residing and studying in those countries. We conveyed good sentiments from the homeland to overseas Vietnamese and many people were moved to tears,” Deputy PM Hải said.

He emphasized that the Czech PM had considered 48,000 Vietnamese living and working in Czech as 48,000 Vietnamese Ambassadors to the Czech Republic.
