VN, Poland strengthen traditional friendship
VNGOP – Polish PM Jaroslaw Kaczynski held a welcoming ceremony and talks in the morning of September 14 (local time) in Warsaw with PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and the Vietnamese Government delegation. Later, PM Dũng had meetings with leaders of the Polish parliament and attended the Poland-Việt Nam Trade and Investment Promotion Forum.

After the welcoming ceremony in Warsaw, the two PMs held talks at which PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng confirmed that Việt Nam always attaches importance to solidifying and strengthening the traditional multifaceted cooperation with Poland for mutual benefits.

The two PMs briefed each other the situations in their respective countries and discussed bilateral issues, especially orientations and solutions to cement and deepen the bilateral ties in such fields as shipbuilding and repair, energy, agro-products and foodstuff processing industry. Their discussion also referred to increasing trade exchanges and establishing direct relations among businesses and localities.
PM Jaroslaw Kaczynski said that Poland pledges to continue support to the Vietnamese community residing and doing business in Poland.

After the talks, the two PMs witnessed the signing of the Agreement between the Vietnamese and Polish Government on granting preferential credits worth of € 16.47 million to build a center for testing ship models.

Meeting the Vietnamese and Polish reporters, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng expressed his delight at the talks. He thanked Poland for supporting Việt Nam’s accession to WTO and nomination to a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in the 2008-09 term as well as in strengthening the relations with the European Union. Việt Nam is willing to support Poland to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in the 2010–11 tenure and deepen its ties with ASEAN, PM Dũng was quoted as saying.

In his separate meetings with Sejm Marshal Ludwik Dorn and Senate Marshal Bogdan Borusewicz in the afternoon of the same day, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng stated that the six-decade friendship and cooperation between Việt Nam and Poland is a solid foundation for the two countries to enhance closer cooperation in various fields.
He was pleased that the legislative bodies of the two countries will further exchange high-ranking delegations to promote cooperation and mutual understanding.

In the September 14 afternoon, addressing the Poland-Việt Nam Trade and Investment Promotion Forum, PM Dũng called on Polish groups and businesses to invest in traditional and new fields, including shipbuilding, mining, pharmacy, agro-product processing industry, tourism, labor export, environment, and aquaculture.
PM Dũng revealed that the two governments had pledged to provide favorable conditions for Vietnamese and Polish businesses to survey markets, take part in trade fairs, and seek for partners.
Earlier, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and the Vietnamese Government delegation laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldiers’ Monument in Warsaw.

Before wrapping up his Poland tour on September 15, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng paid a visit to the Vietnamese community’s trade center and held cordial talks with Vietnamese nationals in Poland.
