PM kicks starts two large projects in Thừa Thiên-Huế

VGP – The construction of the tourist resort Laguna-Huế and the Non-tariff Industrial Park Sài Gòn-Chân Mây wast started this morning in the Chân Mây-Lăng Cô Economic Zone (EZ) in the central province of Thừa Thiên-Huế.

The eco-tourist resort Laguna-Huế is invested by Singapore’s Banyan Tree with the total capital of US $875 million.

The resort consists of seven high-grade hotels of 2,000 rooms in total, over 1,000 luxurious apartments, spa, shopping malls, international convention center, golf course, amusement facilities, and other tourist works.

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of the resort, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng praised Thừa Thiên-Huế’s efforts for socio-economic development, especially by establishing the Chân Mây-Lăng Cô EZ.

The Government chief was convinced that, with such a large-scale project as Laguna-Huế, the Chân Mây-Lăng Cô EZ will be a driving force for the socio-economic development of the province and the central economic region as a whole.

Also in the morning, PM Dũng attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Non-tariff Industrial Park Sài Gòn-Chân Mây.

The 657.78-ha project requires a total investment capital of VND 1,279 billion and will be built in two phases. The park is scheduled to come into operation by late 2014.

According to the PM, the Non-tariff Industrial Park will be a good place for investors. He asked the local government of Thừa Thiên-Huế and the project’s investors to build a vocational training center to guarantee the labor force for the park.
