New ID cards to not contain parent names

VGP – The Government has issued Decree 106/2013/ND-CP to amend Decree 170/2007/ND-CP, dated November 19, 2007, regulating that new ID cards will be issued without names of the cardholder’s parents.  

AFD finances irrigation projects

VGP – The PM has approved the Irrigation Infrastructure Development Project in the provinces of Binh Dinh and Hung Yen, which uses official development assistance provided by the French Development Agency (AFD).

WB-financed projects asked to be speedy

VGP – The PM has assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the State Bank of Viet Nam, the Ministry of Finance and other related agencies to rapidly implement the World Bank-funded projects.

Plan for titanium ore exploration passed

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung has appointed Mr. Truong Van Phuoc, General Director of the Viet Nam Export-Import Bank as Vice Chairman  of the National Financial Supervisory Commission (NFSC).

Viettel's telecom investment form in Peru changed

VGP – The PM has approved of the Ministry of Planning and Investment's proposal of changing the military-run Viettel Group's investment form in a telecom project in the Republic of Peru.

Anti-human trafficking put into reality

VGP – The PM has agreed with a plan to realize the Viet Nam-Cambodia agreement on fighting human trafficking and protecting trafficking victims.

VN-Cambodia border gate development planning passed

VGP – The PM has passed a development planning for Viet Nam-Cambodia border gates till 2020.  

New Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralization Agreement  

VGP – Deputy PM Vu Van Ninh has approved the draft of the new Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralization (CMIM) Agreement which will replace the one signed on March 24, 2010.

Fishery export revenue expected to reach US$11 billion

VGP – The Vietnamese Government plans to raise the total fishery output to some seven million tons and the export revenue to some US$11 billion by 2020, according to its newly-adopted planning scheme.
